The Journey Fund leverages decades of impact and sustainability investing experience to generate attractive returns and enhanced social, environmental, and economic outcomes in emerging and growth markets.
Origin & Purpose
Emerging markets hold the greatest untapped potential for holistic investment in a just transition — The Journey Fund is designed to unlock that potential. The fund blends public and private capital to turn high-impact opportunities into scalable, investable assets.
Approach
A multi-thematic strategy focused on regions committed to a just transition blends public and private capital to capture long-term climate drivers while mitigating macro and market risks. The Journey Fund pairs global commercial discipline with local expertise to access local alpha at lower origination costs and deploy capital at speed and scale due to cross-portfolio knowledge sharing across geographies.
Risk mitigation comes from aligning public and private interests, through co-investments and guarantees from regional institutions, and clear policy signals that reinforce commitment to just transition projects.

The LatAm Blueprint
Latin America (LatAm) needs over $150 billion annually for clean energy but currently receives less than 15% of the resources required, indicating a significant market gap.
The price tag reflects the projected 90% increase in Latin America’s electricity demand by 2050 — one of the fastest growth rates worldwide.
Pilot fund:
Colombia
Colombia exemplifies a strong test case for investment thanks to its long-term commitment to a just transition and bi-partisan support for blended financing of clean energy projects.

Meet the moment
Uruguay, Chile, and sub-national jurisdictions of Brazil round out the initial focus of the Latin America blueprint, diversifying investments across the region.
Project Pipeline
The Journey Fund focuses on energy, regenerative agriculture, and infrastructure as the foundation of a just transition—specifically, investments in clean energy, energy efficiency, infrastructure, food systems, and other nature-based solutions that improve community health and well-being, and provide new economic opportunities.
This core focus is complemented by a holistic approach to the broader just transition value chain, encompassing responsible consumer industries, mobility solutions, social infrastructure and housing, as well as circular economy models.
The LatAm blueprint is built to showcase the viability of a just transition project pipeline, building on the continent's potential to scale bio-economies and regenerative solutions.
Civil Society Partnership
The Journey Fund is developed in partnership with and in support of the Fossil Fuel Treaty, a proposed plan for a global just transition to phase out fossil fuels. While the Treaty initiative advances the political vision for international cooperation on ending the extraction of fossil fuels, the Journey Fund complements it by directing capital toward Treaty-participating jurisdictions in projects that promote post-fossil economies, proving how finance matching political signals can build just economies forever.
Showcasing material economic upside of a just energy transition:
-Private investment mobilization
-Long-term energy savings and security

-New generational wealth opportunities
